Abstract

Food security issues at the neighborhood level are still faced with limited utilization of vacant land and low community participation in independent food management. This condition leads to dependence on food supplies from outside the area and suboptimal availability of healthy food within the community. This community service activity aims to improve food security by converting vacant land into productive land managed collectively by the community. The solutions offered include land clearing, food crop nurseries, fertilizer application, and sustainable plant care. The implementation method is carried out through the stages of observation, planning, implementation, and evaluation with active community involvement. The results of the activity indicate that the utilization of vacant land can increase the availability of food crops, raise public awareness of the importance of independent food management, and strengthen social cooperation in the community. These results are directly related to efforts to resolve food security issues, as previously unproductive land is successfully utilized optimally and sustainably to meet the community's food needs.
