Generative Artificial Intelligence Policy

Responsible, transparent, and human-supervised use of artificial intelligence

Scope of this policy This page regulates the use and disclosure of generative AI in manuscript preparation, editing, and peer review. Authorship, plagiarism, data integrity, and misconduct procedures remain governed by their dedicated policies.

Jurnal Multidisiplin recognizes that artificial intelligence may support limited research and writing tasks. Its use must remain transparent, lawful, ethical, confidential, verifiable, and subject to meaningful human oversight.

Core Principles

  • AI tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot accept responsibility, approve publication, or respond to questions about research integrity.
  • Human authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, legality, citations, data, images, analysis, and conclusions.
  • Editorial decisions must remain under human control.
  • Confidential manuscripts and peer-review materials must not be uploaded to public or unauthorized AI platforms.

Requirements for Authors

Use of AI JM requirement
Language improvement or translation Permitted with author verification. Substantive use must be disclosed.
Idea organization, coding, or analytical assistance Permitted with transparent disclosure and independent verification.
AI as an author Prohibited.
Fabricated citations, quotations, data, evidence, or results Prohibited.
Undisclosed generation or manipulation of research images or data Prohibited, unless it is an explicitly described part of the approved research method.
Uploading personal, confidential, restricted, or copyrighted material Prohibited without lawful authority and adequate safeguards.

Required Disclosure

Substantive AI use must be disclosed in the Methods section or Acknowledgments and in the submission declaration. The disclosure should identify the tool, provider, version where available, date of use, purpose, and human verification performed.

Suggested disclosure “During manuscript preparation, the authors used [tool and version] for [specific purpose]. All output was reviewed, verified, and revised by the authors, who accept full responsibility for the final content.”

Editors and Reviewers

  • Manuscripts, figures, supplementary files, review reports, and editorial correspondence must not be uploaded to public AI systems.
  • AI may not replace independent scholarly judgment or produce an undisclosed peer-review report.
  • Editors and reviewers remain responsible for their evaluations, recommendations, and decisions.
  • Only institutionally approved secure tools with adequate privacy protection may be considered for limited administrative assistance.

Detection and Editorial Action

AI-detection results are screening indicators and do not constitute independent proof of misconduct. JM will evaluate the manuscript, disclosure, evidence, and author explanation before making a decision.

Undisclosed or inappropriate AI use may result in clarification, revision, rejection, suspension, correction, or investigation under the Research Misconduct Policy.
