Scope and boundary This statement concerns personal information processed through the journal website and publishing workflow. Research-participant privacy is governed by Ethical Oversight and Research Data policies.

  • Manuscripts, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, declarations, approvals, and production records.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser, login activity, access logs, cookies, and usage statistics.
  • Payment or administrative records where required, excluding unnecessary disclosure of sensitive financial credentials.

Purposes of Processing

  • Managing accounts, submissions, peer review, editorial decisions, production, publication, and correspondence.
  • Registering DOI and metadata, indexing content, maintaining archives, and preserving the scholarly record.
  • Maintaining security, preventing misuse, investigating integrity concerns, and meeting legal obligations.

Access and Disclosure

Information is accessed only by authorized editors, reviewers, publisher personnel, technical providers, and service providers who need it for legitimate journal functions. JM does not sell personal information.

Necessary metadata may be disclosed to DOI agencies, indexing services, preservation networks, repositories, and scholarly infrastructure. Published author names, affiliations, ORCID identifiers, correspondence details, and article metadata form part of the public scholarly record.

Security, Retention, and Individual Rights

  • Reasonable administrative and technical measures are used to protect information from unauthorized access, loss, alteration, or disclosure.
  • Records are retained for publishing, audit, preservation, ethical, security, and legal purposes.
  • Individuals may request access to or correction of their personal account information.
  • Deletion may be limited when information must be retained as part of the scholarly record, peer-review audit trail, legal obligation, or integrity investigation.
