Abstract

Thematic Community Service Program (KKN-T) is a form of community service aimed at addressing the real needs of the community in a contextual manner. The KKN-T activity of Group 55 of Dehasen University, Bengkulu, was carried out in RT 05 RW 02, Anggut Bawah Village, with a focus on community empowerment through the distribution of chili and spring onion seeds. The main problems identified were the suboptimal utilization of home yards and low community awareness of the potential for household-scale food security. The implementation method of the activity included field observation, coordination with local officials, outreach, distribution of seeds, and simple assistance in planting and caring for plants. The results of the activity showed increased community participation in utilizing yards productively, increased community knowledge about simple horticultural plant cultivation, and growing awareness of the importance of family food independence. This program is expected to contribute to improving community welfare in a sustainable manner.
